Remember,  a 100 Woman member must be present to pitch the charity.  If no one has shown up to pitch the charity 3 consecutive times, the charity will be removed from the list, BUT can be renominated anytime.

Organization Name: Three Rivers Rowing Association - First Row

Mission Statement: First Row recruits from Pittsburgh Public Middle, High and Charter Schools and is offered at no cost to participants. Many of our female athletes face several at-risk factors, including but not limited to single parent, multi-generational households of low-income with low levels of education.

The program's primary focus is on building resilience and strengthening young women in the areas of self-esteem, healthy living habits and the importance of challenging social norms and both racial and gender stereotypes. This is achieved and measured by focusing on seven specific goals. First Row currently has 35 participants that come from 14 different Pittsburgh neighborhoods and 9 PPS schools.
