Helpful Hint:  If you have nominated a charity and plan to do the pitch if your charity is picked, please check-in and make sure your charities name is put in the 'hat'!

Remember,  a 100 Woman member must be present to pitch the charity.  If no one has shown up to pitch the charity 3 consecutive times, the charity will be removed from the list, BUT can be renominated anytime.

Organization Name: Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc.

Mission Statement:  P3R is a nonprofit organization that is passionate about promoting the love of running and enhancing community access to health & fitness education and activities.

Kids of STEEL (KOS) is an award-winning, free youth physical activity and nutrition program designed to instill lifelong, healthy habits in children. Our training plans are geared towards age-appropriate exercise and healthy eating habits.

There can be many barriers for youth who want to participate in Kids of STEEL. Whether the barrier is cost, transportation, footwear or adult support, no child should be denied the opportunity to participate. We created Project R.U.N. (Reaching Underserved Neighborhoods) in 2014 to provide hands on coaching and foods tasting in neighborhoods where Kids of STEEL sites didn't exist. These designated sites receive free coaching, nutrition education/food tastings, free registrations and transportation to an event during Marathon weekend.
