HOW IT ALL WORKS..
100 Women + 1 Hour = 10K Dollars & Local Impact
We meet for one hour, four times a year, and each member brings a check for $100.
HOW IT ALL WORKS... A 100 Woman Pittsburgh member nominates a charity using the website form “Nominate a Charity’. We post the nominations to give women a chance to learn more about the nominated organizations.
The real fun happens at the meeting!
We put nominations in a hat, three names are drawn at random, each of the three members makes a 5-minute presentation about their nomination, we vote and make out checks to the winning organization.
Because some members can’t make it to the meeting and still donate via mail or online, at a later date, we present the checks to the organization with lots of hurrahs and pics!
(See Past Impact Award Recipients on this website!)
On each of four nights during the year, 100 Women Pittsburgh gives up to $10,000 to a local charity, non-profit, or worthy cause, right here in the Allegheny County community. It’s fast, simple, and amazingly effective.
We invite you to join or attend any time as a guest to see how it works and decide if the group is right for you.
A few simple rules:
We each donate $100 per meeting
Each of the three organizations selected from the hat will be given 5 minutes to make a presentation at the meeting. This presentation must be made by a member of the 100 Women Pittsburgh.
If you are unable to attend any given meeting during the year, please give your check to a member to deliver on your behalf or mail it in or donate online once you receive the post meeting instructions.
By ballot, the group will vote, and the majority rules. Even if your first choice isn't picked, you still must donate. All checks go to one organization.
You must be at the meeting to cast a vote!
No national organizations will be considered, however, local branches of national organizations are eligible for consideration. The purpose is for 100% of the contribution to stay in Pittsburgh.
Only three organizations will be presented at each meeting.
The organization must agree NOT to use the names for future solicitations, nor give the information out to the public.
A year after being selected by the group, organizations can re-submit their names for consideration.
